|
So you have that computer system and you want to perform digital video editing of your home videos into the next home movie epic. It is possible, you know! digital video editing requires time, and the will to learn all the software packages necessary to complete the process. There is the capture software, the editing software, titling, graphics, DVD burning and others. You can do a lot with your computer and digital video editing if you take the time to do it right.
First, make sure your computer is capable of handling digital video and the digital video editing needed. Make sure your hard drive is fast and large enough, you have enough ram memory and your processor is fast enough. If your computer fits all of these points and you have a capture card in your computer you can capture and edit video. Some of the new computer systems come with a rudimentary digital video editing software already on them.
If you don't have a capture card already, there are many to choose from. If you want to capture full screen, full motion video you will need a card that captures 720 x 480 full screen Mpeg-2 video. These cards can run between $200 and $2000 dollars. See all our Video Capture Cards! The bigger your hard drive the more footage you can digitize at a time for digital video editing without deleting or backing up. Typically 80 -100 gigabytes of space is good. If you want to burn DVD's you will need a DVD burner. These are coming down in price and a lot of new computer systems have them already in them. Take the time to learn the digital video editing software that comes with the capture card and you will be making edited videos and DVD's in no time.
